If
imagination and creativity is in your instinct, then convert it into a
reality. A profession in photography will surely help you achieve
this. Photography is definitely a glamorous profession but other than
that it also has some more advantages.
Various
colleges like Ferguson of Pune, BGB College of Uttkal University and
The Jivaji University's Government Model College offer a course in
photography where one can do a Bachelor in Photography. The other
institutes that offer photography course are University of Mysore,
Jawahar Lal Nehru, University of Hyderabad, JJ School of arts and SNDT
University of Mumbai.
The University of Mysore offers a five-year course and you can join the course directly after doing your 10th.
The first two-years, they offer a foundation course and after that
there is three years of a integrated degree course. The Jawahar Lal
Nehru university of Hyderabad offers a four-year course, which you can
join after doing your 10+2. JJ School of Arts and SNDT University of
Mumbai also offer diploma in photography.
Famous
fashion photographer, Vicky Idnani, has done a course in photography
from JJ school of Arts and seems quits content with it. "Various
details from holding a camera in the right position to the lighting
effect are discussed in detail in these professional courses. I have
never assisted any photographer so this course has definitely helped
me." He further added that this profession is surely very lucrative. "Even if you work for only for five days a month, it pays a good price."
But
few other experts in this field feel that the practical knowledge of
photography can only be learnt while working with a professional
photographer.
Photography,
like any other profession has various fields like, tabletop,
commercial, interiors, fashion, advertising and many more. Streams like
fashion, media and advertising will need people, loaded with the
skills, and with the expansion of opportunities the time is just right
for all the aspirants.
So,
if you are feeling lazy to join a course, one can start his/her career
by assisting a senior photographer in the area of your choice. But a
professional course will definitely add to your credit. After gaining
good experience, one can freelance or land up a job in any well-renown
organizations.
You
never know, even your name might be added to the list of famous
international photographers like Henri Cartier Bresson, Anne Geddes
(who is well known for her beautiful photographs of babies) or
even Indian greats like Daboo Ratnani or Raghu Rai.
