Firewalking: Go beyond your limits!
December 3, 2008 14:14 by kamiya
A look at my blog makes me wonder that you must be
wondering that this woman only wonders about movies! Wonderful but that's not
true. My job extracts a lot more than just watching movies. Not that I mind it :P

Anyway, that includes walking on fire & glass,
bending steel bars, breaking a wooden board. Supercool no?
Nah, I haven't joined any self-defense class yet. I have mastered that art
already ;-) It's a corporate training session by Priya Kumar. Now why would employees do all
these stunts?
To release mental stress, unblock constricted energy, create
greater sensitivity, enhance your relationships and add to your health.
Breaking the board with focus, bending the steel bar with commitment and
walking on the fire with confidence. I could do all the tasks except breaking the board. Does that say something? Yes, just that I need to work out :P Also, the focus is missing ;-)
Of all, I enjoyed firewalking the most. You must be wondering how can someone walk on the fire and come out unhurt?
Here it goes: "Fire is a tool of transformation. It is an element of prayer. Firewalking
converts your fears into powers. When someone approaches a task, any task with full
attention, focus and intention, they emerge bigger than that task or situation. But
if they are not paying attention or are not focussed or approach life
unintentionally then that is when accidents happen. Intention is a very
powerful tool in creation," Says Corporate Trainer Priya Kumar.
And all this is to go beyond your limits and overcome your FEARS. If you can walk on fire, there is practically nothing which you cannot do!
Watch this video till the end.
FYI: Love is a sign of creation and
fear is a sign of destruction. When the person is in love, he is happy,
positive and always smiling. At the same time, its fear that leads to all
negativities. Fall in love and fall out of fears. Spread positive vibes and
shun the negative ones!

Salsaaaa.....
October 4, 2008 14:10 by kamiya
Step forward and together, step back and together.
Well, it’s SALSA that I am talking about. My life has got a new purpose - to be
a Salsa instructor!
I totally love it. I use to wonder how two strangers come together and perform
an extremely synchronized salsa. I am glad I know it too but I guess it’s only
with my batch mates. ;-)
Not that I enjoy dancing with strangers!
Moving on, it’s an hour long session by Sandeep Soparkar, the best Salsa dancer
in town. Basic, cuckurajaa, side to side, hand to hand, turn.. these are few
steps I have learnt. It just keeps me going.
If you are looking forward for some fun in life and learn something new. Join
SALSA! It just separates you from the rest of the world for an hour and the day
after that. You will see yourself revising those steps. ;-)
So, an addition to my ambition list is – You know what!
Do enrol yourself before the registrations close.

India's first-ever Couture week!
September 26, 2008 16:51 by kamiya
It took me 2 hours 47 minutes to learn how to pronounce the word - 'couture'. I was
happy to know it's not just me! Each person pronounced it differently.
Few say Koothuore, few others Kootuure and others Kutur, the last ones were the laziest, for sure. Correct one is
Koothure. Sounds good but what the heck is it?
Taking no help from google, I will tell you what I understand from it.
Couture – The high-end fashion clothing designed for an individual. Exclusive and glamorous. No replication of the same design. And ofcourse EXPENSIVE.
Couture in India, largely means bridal. But the designers did put out a lovely collection of evening gowns, hip-cloaked jackets and Indo-western wear. Surely, I was expecting lots of glamorous wear and the couture week did not disappoint
me.
Of the lot, I liked J J Valaya’s collection the most. Ritu Kumar’s was no
different than what I have already seen. Manish Malhotra, I had higher
expectations. Rohit Bal, good velvety stuff. The fashion show was better than
the clothes. Lots of glitter and glamour in Manav Gangwani’s collection. Varun
Bahl, too, put out a beautiful collection on the ramp.
Don't I sound like a pro already? All faff. May be you should just check out
the pics. Though I am still curious to find out if the couture week has been
really different than Lakme Fashion Week or Wills Lifestyle. I'll know that
soon.

From wroom wroom to tic tac toe!
September 26, 2008 16:26 by kamiya
Cars did excite me and they entertained me for good six months. But its time to
move on and unfold another chapter. Civic
issues, personal finance, cars and now it’s Lifestyle! Glamorous of the lot.
Fashion, travel, health, art, bollywood, luxury. All good things packaged in
one. Not as good as it sounds because this demands more from me than what I can
give. Either lifestyle is disappointed or me. But now we are married. Hmmm...
or maybe it’s still the courtship. We are enjoying. :)
Hope I move on to the next chapter before I get married to "lifestyle"
Do I need to tell you how boring marriages are? This affair shall live longer
but nothing is permanent, my child.
This also means a new addition to my categories called - Life & Style!
