Bindaas Shahrukh at the bindass concert!
clock January 19, 2008 01:07 by author Kamiya

If I have ever said 'I don't like Shahrukh Khan', FORGIVE ME! I take my words back because this guy is truly a rockstar! I would have never declared this if I had not seen him in person. Unfortunately, I was too late to have a one on one chat with him but his skit at the concert organized by Bindaas channel said it all.

Sajid Khan, Cyrus Broacha or all the other funny guys may seem less funny if Shahrukh is around. May be its his wit or his charm, but the crowd died laughing. He called few bindaas youngsters from the crowd to the stage and made them dance like he does. Ofcourse, not everyone can be Khan but their attempt was hilarious. Quite similar to what he made the criketers
do. But to watch it live was a good experience. One Bong guy just could not say, 'Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai'. He kept saying,  'Don pakadne mushkil nahi mumkin hai'

Priyanka Chopra, Rakhi Sawant, Dia Mirza were the other performers and their show was no different than what you see on awards. Sajid khan was a good host like always. It was madly crowded and the crowd was not good either. Thanks to my Press Card, I was amongst the first benchers or I would not have been able to enjoy the show. Do watch the show on 26th January only on UTV's Bindass channel.

Here are some of the event pictures:

Bips-Saif and a great hair day!
clock October 9, 2007 22:26 by author admin

Kamiya Jani catches bombshell Bipasha Basu in a salon, chatting about curls and Saif! Read on:

"Mad o Wat?" That's what I told myself when I thought I saw Bipasha getting her hair washed at Sapna Bhavnani's salon, Mad o Wat. I was not sure if it was really she until Sapna called out her name.

Sporting a short denim skirt with a green tee, she looked like a girl next door yet dazzling. Although I have never been her great fan, but you know how it is when a celeb is sitting right next to you! Yes, I was watching all her moves.

A stylist massaging her hair, she looking upwards and a puppy in her lap, Bipasha looked a bit conscious.

Just when I thought I should talk to her, she posed a question to me, "Is your hair naturally curly?" I replied, "Yes" (Like, I'm a celeb and not she). Never mind, I got a reason to strike a conversation. She mentioned she liked curly hair and wanted Sapna to curl her hair for some shoot. Whoa… I couldn't feel better.

I figured that she was at the salon to colour her hair black and get some smart fringes. Unfortunately, once it was all done, the production house called up Sapna to make it brown, the way it was, for some remaining portions of the shoot. Now, Bips was fuming.

Throughout my appointment at Mad o Wat, I kept my ears open for any kind of gossip, but could not uncover anything juicy. The only interesting thing I heard was, "During our shoot, Saif often wonders how I blow dry my hair so soon."Aah…then I gathered it’s the movie Race, she has been shooting for.

Just when she was leaving, I called her out to ask if I could click her picture. She smiled, "What are you going to do of my picture? Why don’t you also come and let Sapna click the picture.” I scuttled and stood next to her. (Say Cheeeezzzz!)

I got back to my hot seat and allowed Sapna to chop my hair. Bipasha, then, tapped my shoulder and said, "B'bye. Take care." Sweet!

In a tell-all interivew, the model-turned-actress insists Dhol is her best

Kamiya Jani, buzz18

An item song is like a double-edged sword. A single number can catapult any relatively unknown face into the limelight. Yet for those who have tasted this fame know that it all comes at a price. Indeed being tagged as an 'item girl' is not the best for any up and coming actress. And every single 'item girl' – right from Sameera Reddy to Koena Mitra – has struggled to break away from the stereotype. Payal Rohatgi whose biggest claim to fame is possibly her item song in Corporate, talks about her latest film dhol and her future plans.

Woman of substance
clock September 26, 2007 02:42 by author Kamiya

Pallavi Kulkarni, a resident of Chembur, is the talk of the town. All this and much more, for this pretty young thing who stars in one of the most talked about television shows of recent times

Pallavi Kulkarni is a well known face on the small screen. However, her latest show ‘Vaidehi’ has made her one of the most famous personalities on TV today.

“It has been two years since I moved out of Chembur and shifted to Goregaon but I miss Chembur a lot,” says Pallavi.

She started off doing television commercials and her first soap that came on air was ‘Hadd Kar Dii’, followed by ‘Kehta Hai Dil’, ‘Ateet’, ‘Kya Hadsa Kya Haqeeqat’ and now ‘Vaidehi’. “ After seeing my friends getting a portfolio done, even I got one done and bagged quite a few commercials. I was fortunate to get offers for TV serials too,” she informs. Pallavi did her schooling from the Loreto Convent School in Rashtriya Chemical Fertilizers (RCF) colony, where she resided along with her family.

“I think RCF is the most beautiful place in Chembur and during monsoons the view is breathtaking,” she avers. Due to her hectic working schedules, she has not been able to visit Chembur for a long time now. “I pass from Chembur only while going towards Pune or anywhere out of Mumbai,” she says. Her favourite hangout was Croissants near Diamond Garden. Talking about food, Pallavi surely could not stop raving about the chain of restaurants available in Chembur.

Unlike other television actors, Pallavi manages to remove time for herself as her show is a weekly and not a daily soap. “I work for 20 days in a month. I prefer weekly shows to daily ones,” she says.

Apart from the commercials, she is just doing one show and seems quite content with it. “The team is very good and co-operative and I am just hoping that the show goes well,” hopes Pallavi.

Known as Kavyanjali’s Kavya and Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka’s Kunal Sehgal, Eijaz Khan, a well-known face in the television industry reminisces the days he spent in Chembur

By Kamiya Mohan Jani

Known as Kavyanjali’s Kavya and Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka’s Kunal Sehgal, Eijaz Khan, a well-known face in the television industry reminisces the days he spent in Chembur
Born in Hyderabad and brought up in Mumbai, this talented actor spent his childhood in Chembur.

“I had never planned anything for myself,” admits a gratified Eijaz. He started off his career with small modeling assignments and today he is the face of one of the most famous production houses in the city.
While schooling from Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Eijaz used to stay at Vijay Vihar Society. Khan has done his schooling from Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School in Chembur and then went on to do a course in Civil Engineering before taking to acting. When questioned why he choose acting as a profession, Khan said that he did the course, as his father wanted him to do so. Born on August 28, 1975, Eijaz has seen Chembur developing along with his age and realises that today Chembur has become a lot more commercial than before.

“I hardly get to see those Anglo- Indian bungalows anymore. All I get to see now are the commercial banks and the showrooms.” He catches up with his friends and relatives here every fortnight or once a month when he packs up early.

Sheepishly, Eijaz states that he had no girlfriends in school. “I was too shy to approach any girl,” he avers and adds, “I remember doing all sorts of stunts on my BMX bicycle like free stands and riding on rough tracks at B.A.R.C.” Overcome with nostalgia, Eijaz remembers the good old days when he used to play soccer and basketball with his friends. When asked if he would like to come back to his childhood abode, he says, “I would love to. But it would get inconvenient for me to commute to my studio every day from Chembur.” The actor currently stays at Marol, which is relatively close to his workplace.

Right now his only show on air is ‘Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka’ and his disappearance from ‘Kavyanjali’ has really disappointed many viewers. “You will not see me in the show for now,” he informs. There are also rumours of him not getting along with his new co-star Sangeeda, who plays Nimmo in KHNK. “My equation with Anita Hassandani (Anjali of Kavyanjali) is the best till date,” he concludes diplomatically.

CG Plus wishes this former Chembur resident the ver
y best for the future!
