Reva i, good for a ride not pride!
Posted: April 23, 2008 10:06 by Kamiya
To call this car, a car, would be like convincing a baby that it's not a toy plane, its a real airplane. That was my reaction when I saw this car. It's tiny. As tiny as my nephew's electric car, which can be operated with a help of remote. Ok, a bit of exaggeration.
But Reva looks really cute. At a glance, no one can even guess that four people can actually fit into it. I didn't say four adults.
May be an adult d river and three kids. And just in case if two well built adults decide to occupy the front seats, they would reach the destination all the way rubbing shoulders.
One good thing is no fuel consumption. So, besides charging your mobile phone and your laptop, now you may even have to charge your car before you leave your home. Its takes about three hours to charge this motorcar and it runs for about 50 kilometres. Don't even think of taking it out of the town or you will be waiting at a roadside dhaba for three hours.
This is priced at Rs 3.5 lakh. Ok, its cute but I wouldn't spend so much on a toy. I need space, comfort and utility. I may have all eyeballs on this car when I am out on streets but at the end of the day, we always want things which are more than just cho chweeet!
It's good for a ride not pride!

Sometimes it's worth waiting!
Posted: April 23, 2008 06:35 by Kamiya
I know I have said this a million times that I hate to wait but sometimes you are left with no other option. This one is going be a year long wait or may be even longer than that and I don't mind waiting.

Such is my love for good-looking things ;) Honda Jazz, a hatchback but looks super aggressive. This one stole my heart. Its a small car but a huge one even in the small car segment. It's got loads of space. The interiors look posh.
Expected to be here by January 2009, Jazz will come with a price tag of anywhere between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. It's expensive compared to other hatches, except Fabia, which falls in same price bracket. But I would still call this one as my favourite small car.
If no other car impresses me till Jan 2009, I will own this one as soon as it comes.

Aepang dopang SEPANG!
Posted: April 5, 2008 21:49 by Kamiya
Well, the purpose of my trip to Malaysia was not to ride jet ski, play paintball or shop at China town. It was to test drive the new tire launched by Goodyear! And you would hate to know where I test drove these tires. Yes, it was at the SEPANG International Circuit.
What a track! What a silky track! The car zips like an aeroplane on runway before it takes off. Drive like there is no end to this road. No traffic lights, no mamu, no other car to share the same road. It's just you and the road belongs to you.
First time ever I drove with a helmet on and yes it was very much needed. The first lapse was driven by a professional racer and trust me, that's been the best drive ever. He drove at the speed where I did not even have guts to check the speed-o-meter. I was swirling and swinging and trying to balance myself from falling off the car. Yeah, the doors were locked but I was still scared.
Next was my turn! I had to drive but I was warned umpteen number of times not to get carried away. So, I drove peacefully at the speed of 100 kmph. Keeping my right foot in control, not letting off complete rest on the paddle, I was enjoying the drive like I was on expressway! But hullo, it was a race track! I could have done so much more but never mind, there's always a second time.
It was a great experience and next time when I go there I wanna drive a sports car!

Fiat launches yet another Palio!
Posted: March 11, 2008 06:58 by Kamiya
After several attempts, here’s one more attempt. Fiat India has launched launch their new Palio Stile with the 1.3 litre multijet diesel engine. At the look of it, this new Fiat Palio Stile looks no different than the old one. Yes, the styling still remains the same but it's the engine they have worked on. It is the same engine which is licensed to Martuti for use in the Swift DDiS and gives the exact performance.
The engine does seem to be powerful and promises a good fuel efficiency. Priced at Rs 4.77 lakh ex showroom, the car cliams to give a mileage of about 17 kpl in the city. Not bad for its price, its closest competitor would be the in-house Tata Indica Dicor.
But how new is this new? Aren't we all bored of the same old design?
The drive is smooth and the car does look sleek but honestly, I am quite bored of the Palio which was designed way back in 2001. I would find it difficult to everytime open the engine and prove it to my friends that this is the all new Palio Stile Multijet, which looks the same as the old one.
Good to fit in a small budget but wait for some more time guys instead of showing off an old design. (If you are just bothered about the fuel efficiency, this could be one of the good options)

A job that lets me live my dream!
Posted: February 28, 2008 06:03 by Kamiya
A new beginning I had been waiting for. The thought that pumps me up - Sexy hot looking CARS and I get to drive them all!
Second day at job and I did a test drive for Skoda Fabia. Not that I know it all but still getting into the loop. I can tell you how the drive was but if you ask me how's the engine of the car, I am most likely to change the topic to how it looks :-) [I am quite smart, that way]
After all, we all are just concerned as to how smooth the drive is, how it looks and what is the mileage that it offers, unless you want to be a racer! I am sure there are a lot many things attached to a car than this but this is what most people know of. So, I am as dumb as you but we will all learn everything in the days to come!
It’s been good 15 days since I have been eating, drinking and dreaming (literally) about cars. It’s a dream job, honestly, guess that’s why I have been dreaming so much about it! I now know, how important the steering, wheel, door handle, gear box, Ac knob of the car is! To make it look sexy is my responsibility.
Other than Skoda Fabia, I have driven Honda CRV, Honda Accord and Indica Dicor. Not many fancy names on the list yet but picture abhi baaki hai, mere dost! I have realized I have a thing for SUV cars and I loved CR-V the most! If I had to buy a car today, it would be the CR-V. (Please read: my birthday was a week ago but I am still accepting gifts)
Because I have been spending more time with other cars, my Santro (Mercedes S class) does feel a bit insecure. But don’t you worry honey! I won’t leave you. You have been quite loyal and it’s time to pay back. (Now that I can’t afford a CR-V, I better say that!)
